Half way from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong son, the twisty mountain roads make way into a large green valley carpeted with rice paddies and tropical greenery. At about 600 meters (miles) above sea level, mountains hug you all around in a tiny town called Pai, named after the river that runs through it.
Pai, a town where everybody knows everybody and yet everyday is just as different as you learn to rest and commune with nature. Everyday in Pai is so relaxing as if it is always a lazy Sunday.
Despite Pai is a small suburb, surprisingly, you will find many high quality western and Thai restaurants around where you can spend your romantic evening to wine and dine. On your free day, you may either visit hilltribe villages or join countless outdoor activities as well as meet new friends in local bars at night. Pai is also a popular venue that host many music festivals.
